Ssam Jang is a dipping sauce made with doen jang, chilli paste and other seasonings. It perfectly compliments Korean BBQ meat and vegetable sticks, typically cucumbers, crunchy green chillis, or carrots. Many Koreans enjoy ssam jang even without BBQ meat. Simply wrap lettuce or perilla leaves around a spoonful of rice and a dab of ssam jang. You can even enjoy the famous Korean bibimbap with a dollop of ssam jang instead of chilli paste for a less spicy but just as tasty version.
